Mobile X-ray: Serving the community "at your doorstep"
With National Healthcare Group's vision of 'adding years of healthy life to the people of Singapore', NHG Diagnostics (NHGD) is able to bring the x-ray service "at your doorstep". It allows us to bring our services that are accessible, cost effective, timely, accurate and closer to the community.
NHGD has setup a mobile X-ray I on board a custom designed 21 foot container last Nov 2006. 6 months later, Mobile X-ray II; on board the 30 foot container has been customize built to serve the community. Both containers are fully equipped with new generation computed radiography and general purpose x-ray system to cater to full body x-rays. The unit has provision for patients on wheelchair or stretcher with an automatic lifting device.
With digital technology, the NHGD Mobile X-ray service will operate on a completely film less platform. However, where hardcopy films are required, a digital printer on board enables instant prints to be made. The unit comes with its own power generator and water supply. It can also be linked to the hospital’s network and power supply system if required.
With a bigger space available in Mobile X-ray II, there is also a doctor’s consultation room on board. This will be useful to facilitate the doctor to consult patient especially during onsite health screening project. A portable x-ray unit will be made available on board the container as well. This will increase the capability of providing X-ray service to nursing homes especially for those bed-ridden patients. The portable x-ray unit can be brought right up to the bed-side so that X-ray can be taken at the convenient of the patients.
